SOCIETY RANKINGS EXPLAINED

Although the GWGS Rankings are for a bit of fun, after some thought I have decided to revamp them. They will still be based on a members performance in tournaments throughout the summer on a "rolling" 2 year period and will incorporate all of our Summer competitions (Open, Stableford Plate, Par 3, September Classic & Premier Strokeplay).
However points will now be allocated for the MAXIMUM POINTS available in each event and not points awarded depending on how many members enter a competition.
Each tournament has been graded, with more points being awarded for finishing positions in the Premier Strokeplay than the Par 3, as it is certainly a tougher competition to win. A player needs to have competed in 3 competitions in the rolling 2 year period to count. Although it is only for fun, it may well be a source for allocating tee times in one of our summer competitions or in allocating teams if we ever enter a Society Team Challenge.
